Laleh Shokohi

Laleh Shokohi is a partner at Sho-Kal Law, APLC, specializing in employment law and personal injury matters. Prior to starting Sho-Kal Law, Laleh was an associate attorney at a well-regarded boutique law firm in Los Angeles, which specialized in employment and labor claims and civil litigation. During this time, Laleh advocated for employee rights against employers for various claims including sexual harassment, discrimination, failure to accommodate, retaliation, wage and hour claims and wrongful termination. In addition to advocating for employee rights, Laleh also managed the firm’s personal injury department.

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Laleh is a first-generation Iranian American who grew up in a very diverse community. Although Laleh was a valley girl who liked to have fun, early on she developed a passion for history, politics, and helping those in need, especially women. This passion led her to attend California State University Northridge where she graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Political Science. Prior to law school, Laleh volunteered extensively at a non-profit located where she helped low-income Iranian women with matters pertaining to child custody and divorce. Although Laleh fights hard for equality and always seeks to help those in need, she believes special attention needs to be paid to immigrant and colored women who are victimized the most.

With these strong core values in place, Laleh went on to attend and graduate from Southwestern Law School where she obtained her law degree. During law school, Laleh received several prominent awards for her legal writing, Appellate brief writing, and research on U.S. political intervention abroad. Following law school, Laleh made the decision to advocate for worker’s rights and to help educate both women and men on their rights within the labor force.

Laleh is a fierce advocate for the historically exploited workers who make up the backbone of this country. She fights hard for the underdogs and victims who have been harmed, whether that harm stemmed from an auto accident or an employer’s failure to accommodate an injured worker. Laleh’s diverse-community values, commitment to her clients, and her strive towards gender equality demonstrates her passion for achieving justice for all and helping those who cannot help themselves.
